JSCA Stadium, Weather, Pitch Report: IND vs NZ, India’s tour of New Zealand 2021, 2nd T20I

India and New Zealand will face each other in the second match of the three-match T20I series. This match will take place on Friday 19 November at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup was disappointing and they made a great start to the T20 series against New Zealand. In the first match, Rohit Sharma and team defeated the visiting team by five wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

New Zealand batted first and Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman steadied the ship despite Daryl Mitchell’s loss. Guptill scored 70 runs in 42 balls and the Blackcaps posted a competitive total of 164.

Rohit Sharma’s 48 and Suryakumar Yadav’s 62 helped the home team win the first match of the series. However, the chase turned out to be difficult in the end, they managed to reach home in the last over of the innings.

Pitch Report:

The pitch of Ranchi’s JSCA Stadium has been good for the batsmen. The average score at the venue is 152 and this suggests that there could be a level playing field between bat and ball. There may be dew in the evening and hence, as has been the trend in recent times, the captain winning the toss may opt to bowl first.

Season:

Winter season has started in India and hence conditions will be foggy. There is no chance of rain. Temperatures will hover around 22°C with humidity in the 70s. The wind speed will be around 12 kmph. Since the second T20 match is in the evening, the due factor is around 9 per cent.
