UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) The merger cycle of December 2021 and June 2022 will be run in the first or second week of June. National Testing Agency (NTA) Will release the detailed exam date sheet after finalizing the dates, Chairman Jagdish Kumar has said.
Kumar tweeted, “For the merged cycles of December 2021 and June 2022, the next UGC-NET will be conducted in the 1st/2nd week of June 2022. Exact schedule announced after the dates are finalized by NTA Will go.” (sic)

The application process for the exam has not started yet and once declared the link will be activated on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The candidates who qualify the exam will be eligible to apply for teaching posts in the colleges of the country. UGC NET certificate is valid for three years for the post of JRF. The certificate is valid for life for the post of Assistant Professor and Lectureship.
Last year also, the UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 sessions were merged and the exam was conducted after a period of 17 months. The exam was getting delayed for a long time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. UGC NET was postponed four times last year.
Thereafter it was held from 20 November to 5 December. Around 12.67 lakh candidates had registered for the exam Which was conducted in 469 designated centers in 213 cities. It was conducted for 81 test papers. Out of the total, only 52,857 candidates cleared the exam. As the number of candidates was high due to the merger of the examination, the officials had installed 1783 jammers and 8142 CCTV cameras at all the centers on the first day of the test to ensure smooth and fair examination.
