Joe Root to Smriti Mandhana: List of ICC Awards 2021 recipients so far

New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced various awards in the men’s and women’s category for the year 2021 to acknowledge all the notable cricketing performances at its awards ceremony. In the year 2021, Pakistan dominated the list of winners released on Monday.

Unfortunately, the Indian cricket team, which is currently undergoing transformation, failed to win a single ICC award. This is the first time since 2016 that an Indian player could not win an ICC award in the men’s category.

Pakistani players received three ICC awards. Babar Azam was adjudged the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, while Mohammad Rizwan won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi received the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. For the first time in the history of ICC annual awards, Pakistan won three awards.

No Indian player got a place in the ICC ODI and T20 team for the year 2021. Babar Azam of Pakistan was chosen as the captain of both the teams.
