England captain Joe Root has “sacrifice” the chance of entering the IPL’s mega auction to revive the fortunes of his criticized Test team.
Root, considered one of the game’s modern greats, is yet to play in the Indian Premier League after going unsold in the 2018 auction. Last week, Root said he was considering entering the mega auction, but added that he would like to play in the tournament only if it doesn’t detract from his Test career.
