New Delhi: According to officials, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chaugam area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday morning.
According to the Kashmir Zone Police, incriminating material including rifles and ammunition have also been recovered from the spot. Now the search and rescue effort is on.
Taking to Twitter, Kashmir Police Zone said, “02 unknown terrorists were killed. including objectionable material weapons and recovered ammunition. Search continues. Further details will follow.”

According to an official, the firing started when a joint police and security team cordoned off the area and launched a search operation based on specific information about the presence of terrorists.
He said the search turned into a confrontation as the hiding militants opened fire on a search group of security forces, which elicited a reaction.
An unidentified terrorist was killed on Friday following an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Mumanhal area of Arwani district of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag.
