J&K Police recovers three magnetic IEDs dropped by Pak drone in Jammu – Henry Club

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday night recovered three magnetic IEDs dropped by a Pakistani drone in the Kanachak area on the outskirts of Jammu city.

Significantly, before this 43-day campaign, sticky bombs have emerged as a new threat. Amarnath Yatra Starting June 30th. Police have also seized such explosive devices in the recent past.

Giving information, official sources said that the BSF noticed the movement of a drone in the Kanachak area during the night and fired some bullets towards the drone. Immediately police team was deployed and they followed anti-drone SOP in the common area.

At around 11 pm, the police noticed drone activity in the Dayaran area of ​​Kanachak and fired again at it.

The payload attached to the drone was brought down, but the drone could not be shot down.

The payload had three magnetic IEDs packed inside a tiffin box with timer set for different timings of 3 hours, 8 hours etc. The IED has been defused and dispersed through controlled detonation.

A case has been registered.
