NEW DELHI: A non-local vendor was shot dead in the Eidgah area of ​​old Srinagar city on Saturday evening. He has been identified as Arvind Kumar, a street-food vendor from Bihar.
Police said Kumar, 30, was shot by unidentified gunmen near Idgah Park, leaving him in a pool of blood. He was taken to the hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’.
Officials said a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
Last week, terrorists killed a Bhelpuri vendor at Alamgari market in Jadibal neighborhood of the old city of Bhagalpur in Bihar. The person killed has been identified as Virendra Paswan.
The latest attack on a civilian comes just days after similar incidents in which a chemist, two school teachers, two policemen and a few others were killed.

It also comes on a day when forces gunned down a LeT terrorist who is believed to have been involved in the killing of two policemen in Baghat in Pampore.
The forces have started operations to identify and nab the perpetrators of the attacks.
On Friday, security forces gunned down two more terrorists suspected of being involved in civilian killings in two separate encounters in Bemina area of ​​Srinagar and Wahibagh in Pulwama.
“After killing civilians, 13 terrorists have been killed in 9 encounters. We have eliminated 3 out of 5 terrorists in Srinagar city in less than 24 hours,” the IGP said. Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
