J&K: Hybrid terrorist of Lashkar, associate arrested in Budgam

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a hybrid terrorist and an associate of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba in Budgam district of Kashmir. Police said incriminating material including arms and ammunition from the terrorists.

Acting on specific information, the police arrested a hybrid terrorist with 62RR and 43Bn CRPF and a terror associate of the banned outfit Lashkar, a police spokesperson said.

He further said, “The arrested hybrid terrorist has been identified as Mudbir Ajaz son Ejaz Ahmed Rather, resident of Gulshanabad Hyderpora and the terrorist associate has been identified as Syed Muntaha Mehraj, son of Syed Mahraju Din, resident of New Colony Ompora.”

Speaking about the roles of the terrorist and accomplice in the terrorist organization, he said, “Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested duo, apart from providing transport and logistics support to Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, were also involved in arms and ammunition in Budgam district. Was involved in the transportation of ammunition.”

He said that incriminating material, arms and ammunition 01 Chinese grenades and 35 AK rounds have been recovered from their possession.

One Chinese grenade and thirty-five AK rounds were recovered from their possession, he said. Budgam police station has started investigation by registering a case under relevant sections of the law.
