PRO Defense Jammu Lt Col Devendra Anand said, “During the ongoing search operation, the security forces recovered the bodies of Indian Army Subedar Ajay Singh and Naik Harendra Singh, who were killed in action.

Colonel Anand said, “On October 14, following a fierce exchange of fire with terrorists, communication with Subedar Ajay Singh and Naik Harendra Singh was disrupted.”
“Relentless operations are on to neutralize the terrorists and re-establish communication with the troops,” he said.
“Subedar Ajay Singh and Naik Harendra Singh were killed in action in the fierce fighting and their bodies have been recovered,” he said.

Earlier on Thursday, two army personnel were seriously injured and later succumbed to their injuries.
“Riflemen Vikram Singh Negi (26) and Yogmber Singh (27) displayed exemplary courage, devotion and attained martyrdom late on Thursday night and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” the PRO said.
On October 12, five army personnel, including a JCO, were killed in an encounter at Dera Ki Gali in Surankote area of ​​Poonch district.
Several encounters have taken place in Rajouri and Poonch districts this year, but the troops have succeeded in neutralizing the terrorists, mostly along the LoC or close to the site of infiltration.
