J&K: Banned separatist outfit Jamaat-e-Islami’s properties worth Rs 100 crores seized by SIA

Srinagar: Jamaat-e-Islami (JMI) properties worth Rs 100 crore at about a dozen places in Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kupwara districts have been seized by DM Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kupwara on Saturday. SIA Jammu and Kashmir. These properties are fenced with restrictions on access and entry. In order to prevent the availability of funds for separatist activities and to eliminate the ecosystem of anti-national elements and terrorist networks hostile to the sovereignty of India, the following properties have been notified by the concerned District Magistrates in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8: has been done. Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and Union Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 14017/7/2019, dated 28-February-2019.

These premises are cordoned off and entry and use are prohibited. Also, a “red entry” to this effect has been made in the relevant revenue records.

During the seizure proceedings, it was found that around two dozen business establishments in the towns of Kupwara and Kangan are currently running on rent from these JEI properties. After due diligence, it was decided to allow these to continue so that private individuals who have no connection with JEI and are only paying rent to JEI are not penalized and their livelihood is not affected.

District Ganderbal:
I. Construction of single storey building on 10-marla land under survey number 2425/1674/1458/315 in village Kangan.
Second. Construction of three storey shop on 01 Marla and 7 Sirsai land under survey number 2520/1482/496 m in village Kangan
Third. Survey No. 05-Kanal and 15 Marla land measuring 954-minute, 955-minute in village Gadoora Ganderbal.
IV. Construction of abandoned two storey building on 01-Kanal and 06 Marla land under survey number 1488-Minute in village Safapora Lar
V. Land measuring 18-Marla under Survey No. 722-Min in Village Kurhama.

The JEI properties in Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts are the third set of properties to be notified in a series of properties belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

This action will eliminate the menace of terror funding to a great extent in the UT of J&K, besides it will be a step towards ensuring rule of law and a society without fear.

Notably, the SIA has identified 188 JEI properties in the UT of J&K, which have either been notified or are under the process of being notified for further legal action. These are on account of investigation of FIR No. 17 of 2019 under Sections 10, 11 and 13 of Batamaloo Police Station being investigated by SIA.
