A special CBI court in Mumbai recently acquitted Sooraj Pancholi in the Jiah Khan suicide case. Judge AS Sayyed acquitted Pancholi, saying that the evidence against him Bollywood The actor was “vague and generic”.
As reported by Hindustan Times, the court also argued that Jiah was actually saved by Sooraj during one of his earlier suicide attempts. The judge further shared that Jia was a “victim of her own emotions” and blamed her mother Rabia Khan for ‘destroying’ the case.
“The complainant (Rabia Khan) in her evidence directly blamed both the investigating agencies stating that they had not conducted a proper and proper investigation. By giving such open contradictory evidence the complainant himself has destroyed the case of the prosecution,” the court said.
“The complainant has openly shown disbelief on the prosecution. When the prosecution’s case was that of suicide, the complainant said that it was a case of murder. However, there is no murder charge in this case. In fact, the complainant himself denied the prosecution’s case and denied his earlier statement. Notwithstanding the aforesaid fact, the prosecution requested to declare him as a denier and to continue the trial with such incapacitated evidence,” the court added in its order.
On April 28, 2033, Sooraj Pancholi was acquitted by a special CBI court in Jiah Khan’s death case citing lack of evidence against him. Sooraj was present in the court along with his mother and veteran actress Zarina Wahab.

In June 2013, Jiah Khan was found hanged at her home by her mother, Rabia Khan. Khan also reportedly wrote a 6-page letter describing her relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. After Jiah’s death, her mother accused Sooraj and his family of ‘misbehaving’ with Jiah. After this, a case of abetment to suicide was registered against him. Suraj was also arrested but was later released on bail.
