The dead body of an SSB jawan posted on Panchayat election duty was found in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Thursday. An official said that after seeing the body, it was found that the jawan had died due to bullet injuries. He told that the jawan was a resident of Shikaripara in Dumka district. His body was found in Bagodar area.
Giridih Superintendent of Police Amit Renu said prima facie it appears that he died of suicide. He said that family dispute could be a reason for his death. Polling for the fourth phase of Panchayat elections in Jharkhand will be held on Friday.
Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device (IED) was found under a culvert in Namiyaghat police station area of the district. He said the IED has been deactivated and search operation is on in the area.
