Jharkhand: Second accused in Class 12 student murder case arrested | Ranchi News – Times of India

RANCHI: Jharkhand police on Monday arrested the second accused in connection with the murder of a Class 12 student in Dumka district.
Ankita Kumari was allegedly set on fire by accused Shahrukh on August 23, after she did not reciprocate his proposal. Later, the accused was arrested.
The victim was first admitted to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital in Dumka in critical condition. Later she was referred to Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for better treatment.

However, she succumbed to her burn injuries on Sunday.
On Monday, police arrested a second accused identified as Naeem alias Chhotu Khan.
“Naeem alias Chhotu Khan, the second accused in the Ankita murder case, has been arrested,” Dumka superintendent of police Amber Lakda told ANI.

The accused has been sent to jail after he was presented in Dumka court.
Earlier, after the arrest of Shahrukh, Lakda had said that they will apply for a fast trial at a fast-track court.
