Ranchi: To further strengthen the preparedness before the third wave of Kovid-19, the health department of the state will organize a program. interval evaluation All private pediatric clinics and hospitals in the state. The purpose of the assessment is to identify gaps in the resources needed for treatment. COVID-19 Patient as per the rules of the State Govt.
A detailed manual has been prepared by the health department and all civil surgeons have been asked to complete the evaluation at the earliest.
According to officials, the manual has been divided into two groups which include facility assessment for the pediatric age group between one month and 18 years and the neonatal group.
Civil surgeons have been asked to hold consultation meetings with representatives of private clinics and hospitals and make them aware of the manual. The manual is further divided into six categories and all the districts have to collect information like the number of pediatric clinics available in their respective districts and the availability of PICU, NICU and beds in the hospitals.
In order to ensure availability of necessary equipment to treat COVID-19 patients, the manual will also record other deficiencies for life saving equipment like NIV, oxygen concentrator in private hospitals.
Speaking to TOI, State Health Department’s Officer on Special Duty Siddhartha tripathi “We are assessing the gap to ensure better healthcare facilities by equipping government and private clinics and hospitals before the third wave.
“The state government has adequate stock of oxygen concentrators, ventilators and other equipment which are used in the COVID-19 treatment. So once we assess the gap, we will be able to allocate our resources judiciously.”
On the allocation of equipment to private hospitals, Tripathi said, “We will provide resources to private hospitals on rent basis so that they do not face any shortage of services during the third wave.”
