Ranchi: Amidst the attack on migrant laborers Kashmir Valley, ns Jharkhand The government has ensured the safe return of 61 migrant laborers from Himachal Pradesh after they were allegedly assaulted by their local counterparts.
State officials said they are ready to expel Jharkhand workers from Kashmir if they are threatened there. In the recent attack on migrants in Kashmir, two laborers from Bihar died on Sunday.
The workers who returned on Monday were working together Rathi Hydroelectric Power Project Pvt Ltd In Kinnaur District of HP.
According to an official release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Monday, a total of 61 workers in four batches have returned home and the process is on. All those who returned were of pegs, Torpa, Bandgaon and other parts of the state.
The activists had urged the government to ensure their safe return, saying they were assaulted. “Taking cognizance of the matter, the Chief Minister immediately directed the senior officers to work closely on the issue and ensure their safe return from Himachal,” the release said.
The officials of the State Migrant Control Room set up under the Labor Department following the CM’s instructions contacted the Himachal-based management of the company to ensure payment of all their dues and wages before the safe return of the workers.
