Sindri: A contract worker He died under mysterious circumstances in the line of duty on Friday night with a private outsourcing firm of the upcoming Hindustan Fertilizers and Rasayan Limited (HURL). After the death, other contract laborers stopped work and demanded permanent job and compensation to the kin of the victim.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Singh (26), who works as an electrician in Technip India, the prime contractor of HURL. On Friday, he was on duty in the night shift. Sources said that three of his colleagues are reportedly in hiding. Singh’s body was found on Saturday morning, in which there were no signs of injury.
The supervisor present in the night shift was also beaten up by other contract workers but he could not give any reason which could have led to Singh’s death.
HURL General Manager HS Chauhan said the cause of death would be known only after a police investigation. Inspector in charge sindri SHO Suresh Prasad said that only after the family members of the deceased agreed to hand over the body, they can send the body for examination.
