The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has told the Jharkhand High Court that its zonal office was snooped on by Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu, media advisor to the chief minister, and advocate general Rajeev Ranjan, to scuttle its investigation in a money laundering case. In this, there has been talk between the two on monitoring the activities of ED officials.
The ED told the court that the plan was hatched after the arrest of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Pankaj Mishra in a Rs 1,000 crore illegal mining case. The ED told the court that Abhishek Prasad’s call was placed under ‘lawful interception’. It also shared the transcripts of the intercepted calls with the High Court.
His call was intercepted which was routed through his number 94**41 to another number 94**32 (Rajeev Ranjan, Advocate General). Abhishek Prasad was trying to arrange a public prosecutor for accused Pankaj Mishra.
