Jharkhand: 400 sacks of wheat seized during raids in Hazaribagh, two people arrested

During a raid in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, four hundred bags of wheat brought for distribution among the beneficiaries of Public Distribution System (PDS) have been recovered from a house. Hazaribagh (Sadar) SDO Vidyabhushan Kumar said that two persons have also been arrested in this case.

He said that the truck in which the wheat sacks were being loaded has also been confiscated. Kumar said that a team led by Hazaribagh District Supply Officer Arvind Kumar took this entire action after receiving a tip-off. Taking action, the District Supply Officer raided a residence in Matwari locality of the district. Wheat sacks were recovered from here. All 400 sacks were stamped with the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

He said that two people have been arrested in the case. Both these accused had come to live in a house built in Matwari area recently. This house is being told of a relative of the accused. An FIR has been registered in this matter. The SDO said that more details would be available in the matter after a thorough investigation by the police.
