The process of filing nomination papers for the first phase of panchayat elections to be held on May 14 in Jharkhand was completed on Saturday and a total of 39,513 people have filed nomination papers for the first phase. At the same time, giving relief to the candidates, the State Election Commission announced on Sunday that no one’s nomination will be canceled for minor errors.
State Election Commission spokesperson said that in the first phase, the process of filing nominations was completed in 72 blocks of 21 districts. A total of 39,513 candidates filed their nominations in this phase. In this 23,536 female candidates are included. In this way, in the first phase, more women candidates were filed than men.

Now on April 25 and 26, the nomination papers will be scrutinized, while on April 27 and 28, candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations and on April 29, election symbols will be distributed among the candidates standing in the polls. Polling for the first phase has been fixed on May 14 and counting of votes on May 17.
