Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Jharkhand
Following the rising cases of corona virus, the Hemant Soren government has extended the existing COVID-19 related restrictions in the state till January 31. The growth rate of Kovid cases in Jharkhand is close to one percent, which is almost double the national average of 0.45 percent. Not only this, the estimated rate of doubling of Kovid cases in Jharkhand is only 75.8 days against the national average of 154. It is clear from the data that new Kovid cases in the state are increasing at a faster rate than the national average.

Available in both Omicron and Delta variants
Both Omicron and Delta variants have been found in Jharkhand. Sources in the state health department had said that both Omicron and Delta variants were detected in isolated samples sent to the Institute of Life Sciences Bhubaneswar last week for genome sequencing.

Delta variants more infected than Omicron
In December, the Health Department sent about three dozen samples for genome sequencing, of which many delta variants were found to be infected. Although Delta has been found to be less infectious, its effect was greater than that of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
