The Jharkhand government gave gifts to its employees on Thursday. He announced to increase the dearness allowance of government employees from 34 percent to 42 percent. The decision to increase the rate of DA was taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Cabinet Coordination Secretary Vandana Dadel told after the meeting that due to the increase, the exchequer would be burdened by Rs 441.52 crore per year. The additional installment of dearness allowance to the employees will be effective from January 1, 2023.

According to the information, an increase in the rates of dearness allowance has been approved from January 1, 2023 in the revised pay scale (seventh central pay scale) effective from January 1, 2016. State employees whose pay scale or pay structure (seventh pay scale revision) has been revised from January 1, 2016 on January 18, 2017, will start getting the benefit of 42 percent dearness allowance from January 1, 2023. This increase is as per the approved formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

CM Soren said after the cabinet meeting that the government is trying to fulfill its responsibilities effectively. We are committed to the development of the state. You must have seen that many steps have been taken including increase in inflation and pension.

The government has also approved a similar increase in the rates of dearness relief for state government pensioners with effect from January 1, 2023. Other decisions include increase in honorarium of guest faculty, temporary and class-based faculty against the sanctioned strength of assistant professors in technical colleges, universities and other affiliated colleges. The remuneration was increased to Rs 57,500 per month from the earlier ceiling of Rs 30,000 per month.

Other decisions include acceptance of the same form for caste certificate for state government jobs that is used for issuing caste certificate for central government jobs (Form-5). Apart from this, approval was also given for setting up of Sub-Divisional Court at Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum district and appointment of administrators in urban local bodies.

Also it was decided that Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited will sell liquor in those districts for which the agency has not been finalized under the Jharkhand Abkari (Operation of Retail Excise Shops through Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited) Rules, 2022 Has gone.
