new Delhi: Actors Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur stepped out for the trailer launch event of their upcoming film “Jersey” on Monday. After much hectic work, the sports drama will finally hit the theaters on April 14. ‘Jersey’ was earlier scheduled to release on December 31 on New Year’s Eve.
The first trailer of the film, which released almost four months ago, gives a glimpse into the family side of the story centered on the lives of Vidya (played by Mrunal Thakur) and Arjun (played by Shahid Kapoor).
The second trailer delves deeply into Shahid’s character as a cricketer, highlighting Arjun’s passion and undying love for cricket. Sharing the trailer launch teaser on his social media, Shahid wrote, “Blood, sweat, emotion and lots of love! ️ Experience Arjun and his story! #jersey trailer It’s falling at 1 pm today.”
Shahid’s mother and actress Neelima Azeem praised her son, writing, “Fab🔥❤️”

Shahid Kapoor, who plays a cricketer in the film, is all set to woo the audience with his stellar performance. The film has a sweet story about a father getting back in the game to fulfill his son’s dreams. Shahid’s father and veteran actor Pankaj Kapur will also be seen in an important role in the film.
‘Jersey’ is written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri. The film is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film titled, which starred actors Nani and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles.
