Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are engaged, the music icon confirmed on her official website. The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2021, almost 18 years after breaking off their last engagement, are now planning to get married. Lopez, 52, first teased the “exciting and special” announcement on her Facebook and Instagram pages, after which she shared an email to her inner circle. He also added a diamond ring emoji to his Twitter handle.
The message shared to fans on Lopez’s website included a clip of the singer praising a giant, green diamond on her ring finger.
49-year-old Lopez and Affleck first began dating after starring in the movie “Gigly.” They became engaged in November 2002, but Lopez broke off the engagement in early 2004, and was married to singer Marc Anthony by June of that year. In 2008, the couple had twins, Max and Emme.
Affleck married actor Jennifer Garner in 2005 and welcomed three children together: daughters Violet and Seraphina, and son Samuel. After being addressed as ‘Bennifer’ by fans and media alike, Lopez and Affleck reconciled after the pop star split with Alex Rodriguez in May last year.
