Actress Jennifer Aniston, who plays Rachel Green in the popular sitcom “Friends”, has rubbished all rumors of dating her former co-star David Schwimmer, who plays Ross Geller, and called it “bizarre”. However, Aniston knows fans of the show would love it to happen one day. A source told Closer in August that the co-stars reunited after the Friends reunion, as they admitted they had crushes on each other during the initial filming of Friends. The source had said that Schwimmer had flown from Los Angeles to New York to spend time with Aniston.
Now, Aniston, who’s on-screen character Ross dated on Friends, told Entertainment Tonight, “It was bizarre. I couldn’t believe it, really. Like really? He’s my brother. But I I understand it, though. It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies, for dreams to come true.”
Both the actors have previously admitted that they both had crushes on their co-stars during the early days of Friends. Schwimmer had said, “In the first season, I had a big crush on Jen.” Aniston had said, “It was reciprocal. I remember being told once to David, ‘It would be very disappointing if the first time you and I actually kissed on national television.’ And of course, it was.
“We just channeled all our love and affection for each other into Ross and Rachel.” David later compared the situation to “the passing of two ships”. He reflected, “At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other. But it was passing like two ships, because one of us was always in a relationship. And we never crossed that boundary.” . We respected that.”
Friends starred Aniston and Schwimmer with Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc in the lead roles. The highly popular series ran for ten seasons from 1994–2004. The Friends reunion premiered on August 1 and was hosted by James Corden.
