Jeevan Pramaan: How to submit Jeevan Pramaan easily from home without app or scan

Submission of pension life certificate: a life certificate It is usually required by senior citizens or people of age, as they are the ones who usually get the pension if they are eligible for it. However, submitting life certificates can become a hassle for them as they have to be physically present in front of a pension disbursing agency like a bank or post office for submission. This year, the window for submission of life certificate is between November 1 and November 30. However, pensioners aged 80 years and above are able to submit their life certificates before starting from October, so there is a time of two months.

Life Certificate, also known as life certificate, is a mandatory document of existence for the pensioner which acts as a proof of whether he is still alive or not. This certificate has to be shown to an authorized pension distributor or agency, eg a bank or post office. Production of life certificate ensures that the pensioner’s workplace does not continue to pay after his death.

Over the years, the government as well as pension disbursing agencies have come up with innovative ways to facilitate the process of submitting life certificates. With this objective, the government has also come up with Digital Life Certificate, which can be submitted by the pensioner without leaving his/her home. DLC may be the most effective way for senior citizens to avoid exposure to COVID, but it often does little or no work for them. This is because older people are generally not familiar with new age technology and it is needed for DLC submission. An online Jeevan Pramaan requires a biometric scanning device to be connected to a computer’s USB port and at times this is not possible.

To tackle this, there are other ways through which those people who are not familiar with the technology can submit their life certificate. Let’s take a look at them.

Submission of Life Certificate through Doorstep Banking Alliance

Jeevan Pramaan or Jeevan Pramaan can also be submitted by Doorstep Banking (DSB), an alliance among 12 public sector banks. State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and others are part of this alliance.

To avail this service, you need to download the Doorstep Banking app on your mobile phone from Google Playstore or visit the website https://doorstepbanks.com/. Thereafter, the pensioner has to login to his/her bank and request to avail door-to-door banking service for submission of life certificate. After doing so, one has to enter his/her pension account number, verify it and pay a nominal fee for the service. Once this is done, the pensioner will receive an SMS mentioning the name of the bank agent who will come to complete the submission process. Further processing can be completed once the agent is at home.

Submission of life certificate through postman at home

To ease the process, the Department of Posts along with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in November last year launched the doorstep service for submission of digital life certificates through postman. In this process, the pensioner will have to download the PostInfo app. It is a chargeable service and is available to all Central Government pensioners across the country, even if their pension accounts are in different banks.
