JEE Main 2022 vs Advance, IIT vs NIT: How to start preparing for Dream Engineering College

JEE Main 2021 this year is expected to be conducted in four phases in February, March, April and May like last year, however, no official announcement has been made yet. Candidates seeking admission in engineering colleges will have to appear in Paper 1 for BE/BTech of JEE Main 2022. Based on the performance in this paper, top 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify for JEE Advanced 2022 which is an IIT entrance. ,

JEE 2022: How to prepare

Keep JEE Main and Advanced syllabus ready and follow it till the exam. Refer study material from authentic sources essential for JEE preparation. Prepare realistic timetable as per the available time. Eliminate all unnecessary distractions and make it a habit to study at the same time every day. Make notes while reading any chapter, this will reduce your time during revision.

Do homework and assignments on time to avoid backlogs. Keep revising after every exam and practice test analysis and learn from mistakes. Be disciplined and consistent. Take time to take short breaks while preparing. You can practice meditation or yoga for rejuvenation.

JEE 2022: Study Plan

Prepare and follow a daily study schedule covering all the three subjects. Do not neglect any subject or give more time to any one subject. Read the theoretical part first and then practice the problems. It helps to understand the concepts in a better way. If you are not able to solve a problem, read the theory over and over again until you get a feel for the topic.

Do not leave any topic which you feel is unimportant for the exam. Questions in JEE can be asked from any subject in the syllabus. If a topic does not interest you, then go through the easy chapters first and solve the problems from them to gain confidence to learn the difficult chapters.

Time management and your strategy to solve questions is the key to score well in JEE. This can only be achieved by serious dedicated practice and question-solving.

Incorporate problem-solving into your daily study schedule. Have a realistic and specific goal, such as 20 problems a day, and gradually increase your difficulty. Write notes along with your studies. You can add important points, shortcuts, formulas, feedback, mistakes etc. Notes will help you in revision.

Your preparation for IIT-JEE takes a lot of time. You understand topics, solve problems, and old concepts fade from your mind. For efficient preparation, frequent revision is necessary. Revise important points daily before sleeping.

Target small goals to get big results. JEE syllabus looks huge in the beginning. You need to split it into modules. Take one topic at a time and accomplish goals related to the subject; Once this is over, move on to the next topic of the course. Keep an eye on your performance. You need to give tests on regular basis to check your knowledge, speed, accuracy and time management skills.

JEE 2022: Subject Wise Study Tips

The pattern of the exam remains constant, however, no question is ever repeated in JEE Advanced exam. As the question paper of JEE Advanced exam will be divided into three sections, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Here are some important topics and topic wise strategies:

Physics:

The important chapters include Mechanics, Fluids, Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves and Sound, Capacitors and Electrostatics, Magnetics, Electromagnetic Induction, Optics and Modern Physics, however, make sure your concepts are clear in each topic. Solving problems will help you develop conceptual clarity and improve your confidence level in the subject.

In physics, solve a problem, then you recreate the problem, solve it, change it again, solve it again. You will begin to notice patterns and you will begin to ask more complex questions and be able to answer them. You rinse and repeat until you have a conceptual, quantitative and intuitive understanding of what is happening.

Chemistry:

Important chapters include qualitative analysis in inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry and chemical bonding, electrochemistry, thermodynamics, chemical equilibria in physical chemistry, and aldehydes and ketones, alkyl and aryl halides in organic chemistry. Study all the reaction mechanisms and memorize all the named reactions. Make notes while studying each chapter.

For Physical Chemistry, read from NCERT and clear concepts in your coaching institute. After you are done with the chapter, jot down all the important formulas of the chapter in a notebook for quick revision before the exam. Complete the NCERTs thoroughly to solve questions in Inorganic Chemistry. Make precise notes for each chapter.

mathematics:

Important Chapters in Quadratic Equations and Expressions, Complex Numbers, Probability, Vector and 3D Geometry, Matrix in Algebra; circle, parabola, hyperbola in coordinate geometry; Functions, Limits, Continuity and Differentiation, Application of Derivatives, Definite Integrals in Calculus.

Practice is key in this subject. In JEE, Maths questions are sometimes lengthy and the options are quite close too, so be careful about calculations and time management. Concepts and formulas should be at your fingertips.
