Referring to the incident in Arunachal Pradesh, Lalan Singh said that JD(U) has performed impressively in that state.

Newly-elected Janata Dal United (JDU) president Lalan Singh said his party will contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections alone if the BJP does not give it enough seats as an alliance partner of the NDA.

With this, JD(U) will be the second political party of the NDA which has decided to contest the elections alone in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni announced this and said that his party will contest against the BJP. Sahni also said that Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is scared to visit his state.

Referring to the incident in Arunachal Pradesh, Lalan Singh said that JD(U) has performed impressively in that state. In the assembly elections, the party contested 14 seats and won 7 seats. BJP stabbed JDU in the back and merged 6 MLAs.

Lalan Singh said, “We are part of NDA and if BJP does not allot us enough seats in Uttar Pradesh, we will contest alone. JDU supporters are showing a lot of enthusiasm.”

Welcoming Bhagwan Singh at Karpoori Auditorium, Lalan Singh said, “We are committed to bring JDU to the No.1 position. Our target is to achieve results like the 2010 Bihar assembly elections, 2025. Every member of the party deserves their You will get the responsibility.” Kushwaha in JDU

Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha joined JD(U) on Saturday and has been given the post of state vice-president of the party.

Analysts say that with a low base in UP, JD(U) and VIP are likely to take some votes from the BJP.

Meanwhile, JDU Parliamentary Board Chairman Upendra Kushwaha said: I am visiting every district of Bihar to strengthen the organizational structure of the party.

“Leaders of opposition parties said that I was upset over the appointment of Lalan Singh as JD(U) national president but they are wrong. I am not angry. Me and Lalan Babu are old friends and have worked together for a long time. We are committed to expanding JDU nationwide,” Kushwaha said.
