Yashasvi Jaiswal has silenced his critics as he returned to form with a smashing century against Mumbai Indians at Jaipur to help RR take home the win.

All the doubts regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal’s poor form in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League have been put to rest as he came back to shut down his critics with a scintillating century against Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Despite rain interrupting play in the second innings, it did not deter the young left-hander as he was able to finally make the most out of his fine start with the bat.

With Jos Buttler, the two sent the Royals well ahead of the Duckworth-Lewis’ par score when rain interrupted the game following the batting powerplay.

After a steady start in the first three overs, Jaiswal finally let loose as he went on the offensive to go after Gerald Coetzee, pummeling him for a six in the very first delivery and followed it with consecutive boundaries to close out that over.

The youngster was even able to take on the likes of Jasprit Bumrah as he drove won towards the covers for a boundary as well, signalling his intent of showing no mercy to the bowlers regardless of how big their presence may be.

Spinners also did not pose a challenge to the opening batter as he attacked Mohammad Nabi for boundaries regularly as well. He led the chase from the start to put RR in pole position to take home the win.

Within the ninth over, Jaiswal was able to bring up his half-century and went on to set his highest score for the season.

Despite the dismissal of Jos Buttler by Piyush Chawla, he remained focused on taking the side home as he stitched a 109-run partnership in just 65 balls they went on to do the double of MI. None of the bowlers posed much of a threat as he looked to be in the zone where he seemed unstoppable.

This also makes it the second time the youngster scored an IPL century. His first also came against MI during last year’s fixture at the Wankhede Stadium.
