South Korean artist and former K-pop idol group GOT7 leader, Jay B, launched his debut solo album, SOMO: FUME, last month. The 27-year-old singer-songwriter, previously associated with JYP Entertainment Company, joined the H1ghr Music hip hop and R&B record label founded by Korean American musicians Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone.
In keeping with the worldwide fandom of K-pop group GOT7 which consisted of seven members: Park Jinyoung, Jackson Wang, Bam Bum, Mark Tuan, Choi Young-jae, and Kim Yugeom; It’s only natural that fans were waiting for a response from JayB’s former band members. recently Interview Along with Bollywood Hungama, the South Korean artist said that he received messages in group chats from his former band members as he praised them for “great songs”. J B also mentioned that his single track was also placed on the Genie music charts and posted it with gratitude on his social media handle. As soon as GOT7 members saw the social media update, they congratulated them with direct messages. JB mentioned that he was a bit “surprised and grateful” for his gesture.
SOMO: FUME consists of six tracks where JayB impresses his fans with his melodious voice and catchy R&B beats. The artist also collaborated with artists such as Jay Park, Whee In, JUNNY, G1NGER, and SOKODOMO for some of the tracks on the album. Jay B told Portal that he first approached Jay Park, JUNNY and G1NGER to work on his album. “I asked them first. I asked if they could feature and thankfully they all said ‘yes.’ They’re all actors I listen to a lot, and luckily, they all said yes, so that’s cool Stayed,” said JB.
The artist also expressed his desire to travel to India and learn its culture by traveling, tasting the food and visiting different places. Jay B told the media portal that it is possible that he will perform in the country as soon as the pandemic is over.
