England opener Jason Roy on Tuesday said that he has pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 to spend time with his young family. Roy, who was bought by Gujarat Titans in the IPL mega auction, attributed the bubble fatigue to decision to withdraw From a 10-team league starting March 26.

I would like to thank the management and captain Hardik for believing in me and picking me up in the auction. However, it has added to what is happening in the world in the last 3 years and it has had an impact on me,” Roy said.

“I think it’s fitting that I spend some quality time with my family. Also spend the next few months working on myself and my game, which turns out to be a very busy year,” he added.

Will support Titans to win trophy: Roy

Meanwhile, Roy said that he will support Gujarat Titans to win the IPL trophy in their first year and he will follow every match of the Hardik Pandya-led side in IPL 2022.

“I will follow Titans every game and support them to lift the trophy in the first year of the tournament. Thank you all for the continued support and I hope you all can respect and appreciate my decision.”

Gujarat Titans are placed in Virtual Group B along with CSK, SRH, RCB and PBKS. The IPL organizers decided to split the 10 teams into 2 groups of 5-5 as 70 league matches are scheduled to be played at four venues in Mumbai and Pune.
