Jammu: Jammu Police On Friday, two fraudsters have claimed to have been arrested with a fraud of Rs 16.5 lakh.
senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli Sharing the details in this regard, he said that an application was filed by a person named Nikhil Prashar of Kathua at Kahana Chak police station in which it was said that some unknown fraudsters cheated him of Rs 20 lakh.
Accordingly case FIR No. 110/2021 under relevant section of the law was registered and investigation was initiated.
After this, special police teams of PS Kehna Chak under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kaushin Kouli were constituted.”
SSP Jammu Kohli said, “The team led by SHO PS Kahnachak Inspire Vishwa Pratap Singh, with the help of analysis of CCTV footage of the area, finally arrested two suspects.
Suresh Kumar, son of Hans Raj a resident of Chakrabhatti Bhalla Doda and Ashish Langer, son of Ajay Langer of Choudhary lane near Upper Roop Nagar.”
“On his disclosure during his continuous interrogation, the police team recovered Rs 16.5 lakh from him,” the senior police officer said.
“Their method was to motivate customers to buy Kali Haldi (black turmeric) at higher prices,” he said.
“He reassured the customers that this ‘black turmeric’ was a spiritual thing that could generate huge amounts of money in a shortcut way.”
SSP Jammu Mr Kohli said, “After persuading the victim, they called her in huge quantity to the deserted place and taking advantage of the deserted place snatched money from the accused and fled from the spot.”
“Both the accused have finally been arrested and further investigation is on in the matter,” he said.
SSP Jammu said, “Further investigation is on in this regard.”
