Shopian: Two terrorists including a top commander of a banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-TaibaHe was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian, an official said on Monday.

“Two terrorists, including Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram, a top commander of the banned LeT, were gunned down. Akram was active here since 2017,” Kumar said.
According to the Kashmir Zone Police, incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site and the search operation is currently underway.
In a tweet, the police said, “Incriminating material including arms and ammunition recovered. Search is on. Further details will be followed.”

An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Sadiq Khan area of ​​Shopian on Sunday.
This comes after two local Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Srinagar on Friday, who were involved in all three incidents that took place in Srinagar in June this year.

In another incident, a mobile shop owner was attacked. And he was killed. And then there was a grenade attack in which three civilians were killed and one was injured.”
“These two terrorists were involved in all these three incidents. We were tracking them. Yesterday when this information was confirmed, CRPF launched a cordon operation. We appealed to them to surrender but they refused following which a cordon operation was launched. The encounter ensued and both were killed,” the Kashmir IGP had said.
Kumar had also said that a total of 78 terrorists have been killed in the Valley so far this year.
