Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces kill 2 Jaish terrorists in Pulwama encounter

Pulwama: In a major achievement, security forces on Saturday gunned down Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Abu Saifullah in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Abu Saifullah, also known as Adnan, Ismail and Lambu, was involved in the terrorist attack in Pulwama and was active in the Kashmir Valley since 2017.

“In today’s encounter, the biggest Pakistani terrorist associated with the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lambu was killed. The identity of the second terrorist is being ascertained,” ANI quoted Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar as saying.

The top cop further said that Lambu alias Adnan was from the family of Jaish chief Masood Azhar.

“He was involved in the conspiracy and planning of the Lethpora attack. He stayed with Adil Dar till the day of the fidayeen attack, Adil Dar was his voice in the viral video.

Abu Saifullah, who was also linked to the Taliban, has been killed along with another terrorist at Hangalmarg in Tral, Pulwama.

An M-4 rifle, AK-47 rifle, a Glock pistol and another pistol have been recovered from the slain terrorists.

Abu Saifullah was an expert in vehicle-borne IEDs, which are used regularly in Afghanistan and also in the 2019 Pulwama attack.

Reports suggest that Abu Saifullah tried to re-establish and strengthen the Jaish terrorist organization in the Kashmir Valley. It also used Awantipora, especially the Kakpora and Pampore areas of Pulwama, to recruit new terrorist groups.

Security forces have killed at least 87 terrorists, including some top commanders, in Kashmir since January this year.
