Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested 3 Lashkar terrorists from Sopore, busted terrorist conspiracy

New Delhi: Today, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists based on specific information regarding the movement of three suspected persons from Wadura Bala to Sonarwain bridge, who were likely to attack the security forces.

A joint naka was set up by 22 RR, Sopore Police and 179 Bn CRPF at Sonarwen bridge near Vadura Bala, a village under the jurisdiction of Bomai police station in Sopore.

During checking in the naka, it was found that three persons were moving towards the naka under suspicious circumstances. The Naka party noticed his suspicious body language and later asked him to stop.

Though the suspects tried to flee from the spot by resorting to darkness, they were caught by alert and alert soldiers.

The soldiers assessed the situation and displayed utmost restraint and control of fire in not opening fire, keeping civilians in darkness and proximity to the area, to avoid any civilian casualties. On searching them, three pistols, three magazines, 22 round pistols, one grenade and cash of Rs 79,800 were recovered from them.

During preliminary investigation, he revealed his identity as Tufail Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Majeed Mir, a resident of Gund Mohalla, Barat Kalan, Owais Ahmed Mir, son Hasan Mir, a resident of Mir Mohalla, Barat Kalan, and Shabbir Ahmed Wage, son of Nazir Ahmed Wage who is a resident of Masjid Mohalla, Pethabag.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested terrorists are linked to Lashkar. Accordingly, a case has been registered in this regard under relevant sections of law at Police Station, Bomai and further investigation is on. The alertness and proactiveness of the security forces averted a major tragedy that was planned to disrupt the prevailing peace in the Valley.
