Jammu and Kashmir: NIA raids 40 locations of banned Jamaat-e-Islami. India News – Times of India

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIAOn Sunday, raids were conducted at many places in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the Terror funding case.
NIA sources said that 40 locations of prominent places Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) members and the offices of the organization were raided simultaneously. This comes in the wake of the registration of an FIR against prominent members of the banned JEI.
“A fresh FIR has been registered against JeM and today’s raid is part of the investigation related to this FIR,” sources were quoted as saying by IANS.
According to reports, the JeM-owned Falah-e-Aam Trust located on the Nowgam outskirts of Srinagar has also been raided.
Sources said the focus of these raids is to probe the funding sources of the banned organisation.
An NIA official associated with the investigation said that the agency is probing them as well. CRPF Raids are being conducted at many places in many districts.
However, the officials remained silent on sharing the details of the matter.
A source in the agency said that the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency is conducting searches at the premises belonging to senior members of the banned terror outfit Jamaat-e-Islami.
The source said searches are underway at at least 40 places. The search operation is underway in Doda, Budgam, Kishtwar, Ramban, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Shopian, Rajouri and other districts of the Union Territory, the source said.
The sources said searches were being conducted at the premises of Gul Mohammad War, a resident of Manigam Ganderbal, who is the district chief of JEI; Abdul Hameed Bhat, resident of Gamchipora Batvina; Zahoor Ahmed Reshi, JEI member and former teacher is now running a shop in Safapora; and the complex of Mehrajdin fiber in Safapora.
Reshi is a former terrorist and now runs a shop. In recent days, the NIA has conducted searches at different places in two different cases and also arrested some people.
