Jammu and Kashmir: According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a total of 118 terrorists have been killed in the Kashmir Valley this year. Police said that out of these 32 foreign terrorists have been killed.

“Till now, 118 terrorists including 32 foreign terrorists were killed in Kashmir in the current year. Last year in 2021 a total of 55 terrorists including 2 foreign terrorists were killed in the same period. Out of 118 terrorists, 77 are from Pakistan-sponsored Lashkar and 26 from JeM. From the organization,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Earlier on Monday, security forces killed an unidentified terrorist in another encounter in Tulibal area of ​​Sopore town of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Vijay Kumar had said that seven terrorists, including three Pakistanis, were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Valley.

“An encounter broke out in Kupwara on Sunday. Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists from Pakistan were killed only yesterday. Another Pakistani terrorist was gunned down today (Monday) morning. A local terrorist from Shopian, Shaukat along with He was gunned down. Along with him,” IGP Kashmir said.

“In Pulwama, a local Lashkar terrorist was gunned down. In Kulgam, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) local terrorist and a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist were killed. A total of seven terrorists were killed. Went away. Three of them were Pakistanis and four were local terrorists. Encounters took place in Kupwara and Pulwama. Search is on in Kulgam,” the official said.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, there was an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Chatpora area of ​​Pulwama and DH Pora area of ​​Kulgam on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Kupwara Police launched a joint anti-terrorist operation with Army’s 28RR on the disclosure of an arrested terrorist Shaukat Ahmed Sheikh.

Security forces are on alert as there have been incidents of targeted killings in Kashmir and sections of the minority community threatened to prepare for a mass exodus if the government did not move them.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who was on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, had urged people not to allow the social fabric to break and said the election process was likely to begin in the coming months.

Rajnath Singh also indirectly referred to Pakistan and said that some forces are trying to sow seeds of hatred in the Union Territory.

He said the recent targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir have a foreign conspiracy and such attempts will be foiled.
