IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar announced that five Pakistani terrorists of terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were killed in double encounters in Naira area of ​​Pulwama and Budgam. Jaish commander terrorist Zahid Wani is also included in the terrorists killed by security forces in the last 12 hours.

Incriminating material including arms and ammunition including one AK 56 rifle have been recovered. Kashmir Police took to Twitter to inform about the encounters.

“Five terrorists of Pakistan-sponsored banned terrorist organizations Lashkar and Jaish were killed in double encounters in the last 12 hours. Among those killed were JeM commander terrorist Zahid Wani and a Pakistani terrorist,” the tweet read.

An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Charar-e-Sharif area of ​​Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “Encounter has started in Charar-e-Sharif area of ​​Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job.”

Earlier on Friday, Ganderbal Police along with teams of 24 Rashtriya Rifles and 115 Battalion of CRPF arrested three terrorists, who are allegedly linked to banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Resistance Front (TRF). Indian Army on Saturday.

Two pistols, three magazines and two Chinese grenades were recovered from the accused persons, the statement said. According to the statement, the trio have been identified as Faisal Manzoor, resident of Briipora Shopian, Azhar Yakub, a resident of Zapora and Nasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Begum Kulgam.

“During preliminary interrogation, all three disclosed their affiliation with the banned outfit Lashkar/TRF and their involvement in various terror activities in the district,” the statement said.
