Three terrorists, who were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian on Wednesday, were classified as terrorists and linked to the banned terror outfit Lashkar (TRF), which has been involved in several terror crimes including attacks on security forces and civilian atrocities. According to a statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir, acting on specific inputs generated by the police regarding the presence of terrorists in the village of Check Cholan area of Shopian, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the police, 34RR and 178Bn CRPF Was. Said area.

In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar (TRF) were killed and their bodies were recovered from the encounter site. They have been identified as Amir Hussain Gani, son of Manzoor Ahmed, a resident of Czech Cholan Shopian, Rais Ahmed Mir of Nazir Ahmed, a resident of Kapran Shopian, and Haseeb Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammad Yusuf Dar of Khudwani Kulgam.
It is worth mentioning that slain terrorist Amir Hussain was active since September-2020 and was involved in several terror crime cases including PS Shopian’s Case FIR No. 264/2021 regarding attack on Police/SF in village Rakhma on 01/10/2021 . He was also involved in luring gullible youth to join terrorist groups.
Whereas as a terrorist, Rais Ahmed was active since June 2021 and was involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on Police/SF. He was also involved in the attack on Police/SF in village Rakhma. Apart from this, terrorist Haseeb Yusuf was also involved in many terrorist crime cases in the areas of Kulgam.
Incriminating material, arms and ammunition 01 AK 74 rifle and 02 pistols were also recovered from their possession. All the recovered materials have been taken in the case record for further investigation. IGP Kashmir congratulated the combined teams for conducting the operation in a professional manner without any collateral damage.
Police have started investigation by registering a case under relevant sections. People are requested to cooperate with the police till the encounter site is completely sanitized and all the explosive material if any.
