Jakhar slams Channi after Congress’ Punjab debacle: ‘A property, are you kidding?’ , India News – Times of India

New Delhi: East Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar On Monday, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh was heavily attacked. channi and senior state leaders after the party’s defeat in the recent assembly elections.
In a tweet, Jakhar ridiculed a news report that claimed that during the CWC meeting on Sunday discussing the Congress’s defeat in the Punjab elections, it was discussed that the party’s state leadership was headed by outgoing Chief Minister Channi. How it failed to support – a “property” created by the central leadership of the party.
“A property – r (are) you (you) kidding? Thank god he was not declared a ‘national treasure’ in CWC by the ‘PBI’ lady who proposed him as CM in the first place May have been an asset to him but to the party he has only been a liability,” Jakhar said in a tweet.

Although he did not elaborate further, it is possible that Jakhar was referring to Ambika Soni, who was the chairperson of the election coordination committee in Punjab.
Jakhar further said that it was not the top leadership, but Channi’s own greed that dragged him and the party down.
Jakhar also highlighted the ED’s raid on Channi’s nephew in a money laundering case related to illegal mining in the state, as he tweeted a picture of Channi with the headline – “ED seizes Rs 10 cr from Channi’s nephew CM cried crying”.

In the recently held assembly elections, the Congress suffered a major defeat in Punjab, winning just 18 seats in the 117-member assembly.
Aam Aadmi Party has won 92 seats.
The old party was grappling with issues like anti-incumbency, corruption and infighting.
