Jailed gangster and former MP Ateeq Ahmed and his wife on Tuesday reacted sharply to the BJP in the presence of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, saying Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will not allow “Jinnah’s jihadi mentality” to flourish in Uttar Pradesh. Atiq’s wife Shaista Praveen joined the AIMIM at a press conference here, while Atiq Ahmed joined the new party in absentia.

The police have so far taken action on his assets worth more than 200 crores. These actions were taken against Atiq Ahmed under the Gangster Act.
