Actress Jacqueline Fernandez has found herself embroiled in controversies after being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The agency had summoned Jacqueline twice for questioning. On Saturday, Chandrashekhar’s lawyer had told the media that the actress was dating an alleged thug. Now, Jacqueline’s spokesperson has given a statement denying her involvement with him or his wife, actress Lena Maria Paul.
Jacqueline’s spokesperson said in a statement, “Jacqueline Fernandez is being called by the ED to testify as a witness. She has duly recorded her statements and will fully co-operate with the agency in future investigations as well. Jacqueline also categorically denies the alleged scandalous statements made about the relationship with the couple involved. “
Advocate Anant Malik, representing Chandrashekhar, had earlier said, “Jacqueline and Sukesh were dating, these are my instructions, this is straight from the horse’s mouth.”
On August, the actress appeared before the ED to record her statement in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. On Wednesday, his statement was recorded under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). It is understood that the agency wants to confront him with some fresh evidence and interrogate him along with the prime accused in the case – Chandrashekhar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul. Earlier, the actress had also appeared before the agency in August, and had dropped her summons for the time being.
Meanwhile, the agency had also summoned actress Nora Fatehi in this matter. His team issued a statement saying that Nora is a victim of this case.
