J&K: 1 injured in Srinagar grenade attack; longest-surviving Hizb terrorist arrested in Shopian

SrinagarA civilian was injured when a grenade was hurled by a terrorist late Sunday evening at Aiwa Kadal in Eidgah area of ​​Srinagar.

Police officials said that terrorists hurled a grenade with the intention of targeting the forces in Idgah area this evening, a civilian was injured in the attack and he has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

“A grenade was hurled by terrorists in Idgah area due to which a person namely Ajaz Ahmad Deva s/o Abdul Rasheed Deva aged 32 years r/o Sangam, Srinagar received minor shrapnel injuries. The person has been taken to the hospital and is out of danger. Police officials said, operation was launched to nab the criminals.

Meanwhile, the police claimed that they have arrested the longest living Hizbul terrorist in Shopian.

Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested the longest surviving terrorist of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

In a tweet, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “Shopian Police & Army have arrested one of the longest surviving HM terrorist since 2017 named Nasir Ahmad Sher Gojri @ Kasim bhai s/o Ali Mohd.” The resident is Homhuna Nagbal, who is involved in various criminal cases. Case has been registered and investigation has been initiated to unearth the terror network.”
