ITBP officer killed, head constable injured in Naxalite blast in Chhattisgarh

An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officer was killed and a jawan was injured when a Pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites exploded in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on Monday. A police officer gave this information.

The incident took place at around 8.30 am between Dondribeda and Sonpur villages when a team of 53rd Battalion of ITBP was on patrol to ensure the safety of road construction work.Bastar range) Sundarraj P told PTI.

He said that while the patrol was laying siege to the forest, the security personnel came in contact with pressure from the IED, which led to the explosion.

Assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Singh was killed in the blast, while head constable Mahesh was injured, he said.

The injured jawan has been admitted to the district hospital, the official said.
