NEW DELHI: The Union Health Ministry on Thursday warned people to avoid crowds and follow covid Fair behavior before the festive season.
Addressing a weekly briefing, the health ministry said it would be prudent to avoid non-essential travel and follow the festivities in the short run.
It said, “With increasing population density, the chances of spread of Covid increase, so it would be prudent to avoid non-essential travel and observe the festival in less time.”
The Union Health Secretary said, “Active cases are decreasing across the country, the cumulative recovery rate is increasing. The recovery rate in the country is around 98%.” Rajesh Bhushan said.
He said that the number of COVID-19 tests has not come down as 15-16 lakh tests are being conducted every day.
speaking on zydus cadilla Vaccine for children, health officials said that it will not be available in the market yet but will be included in Kovid Vaccination program.
The government said ZyCoV-D is a 3-dose needle-free vaccine, its price will be different from the jabs currently being used and we are in talks with the manufacturer.
ICMR DG, Dr. Dr. said, “The call of the hour is to have two-dose immunization/full immunization covering the entire adult population. The booster dose is not relevant at the moment.” Balaram Bhargava said.
Meanwhile, on Covaxin approval by WHO, Dr Balram Bhargava said that all the data has been given and it is being looked at.
He said, “In the context of Covaxin withdrawal, we know that scientific data, public health considerations, international health requirements are considered. All these (data) have been provided to WHO, which will decide on the matter.” ”
