The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has taken cognizance of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s allegation that ‘the government has… his kids instagram accounts hacked’, a ministry official said on Wednesday. Now it has ordered an inquiry into the allegations.

The probe will be headed by MeitY’s Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) which will investigate the matter.

On Tuesday, Priyanka Gandhi alleged that her children’s Instagram accounts were hacked by the government. She was referring to the allegations of phone tapping made by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav against the Yogi Adityanath government in UP. “They’re also hacking my kids’ Instagram accounts, let alone tapping phones. Don’t they have any other work to do?” he said.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of ‘phone tapping’ in a press conference on Sunday. Responding to Akhilesh Yadav’s allegations, the UP CM said, “Maybe Akhilesh had done something similar while in power. So now he is blaming others.”
