A ‘secondary push of cold Icelandic air’ is expected over the next weekend, which will bring a further drop in temperatures’, adding that ‘severe frosts may occur during some evenings towards the end of the week’.

‘A cooler mass of air during the weekend will bring closer to average temperatures in the UK. There is a chance that some rain may fall as snow over higher ground in Scotland, although no significant accumulation is expected, and no steady snow will continue as light conditions move into Monday.

‘By the middle of the week, there is a possibility that some cold winds may come from the north once again. There is uncertainty over how cold this air can get and how far it will travel across the UK

In such a situation, there is little chance of any snowfall in Britain till the end of next week. The prerequisites for snow fall are quite specific and the details of this level will become clear in the near term. If there is snow, it will not be unusual as we move closer to the end of November and the beginning of winter.

According to MeteoGroup: ‘It will continue to rain during the evening over northern and western Scotland but will remain largely dry elsewhere. Throughout the night, most of the region will remain dry with some clear spells, though the amount of clouds will vary and fog will form. It will continue to rain across Scotland.

From tomorrow, it will be cloudy over Scotland and the initial patches of haze will subside. Most parts of the country will remain sunny.

On Saturday and Sunday, rain will spread over Northern Ireland and Scotland and move towards northern England.

However, it will be sunny in South England.
