Bengaluru FC start with a win over NorthEast United in a six-goal affair

Bengaluru FC beat NorthEast United FC 4-2 in a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) match, with six different players scoring goals here on Saturday.

For Bengaluru FC, Clayton Silva (14th), Jayesh Rane (42nd) and Prince Ibarra (81st) set off fireworks, while Highlanders Deshorn Brown (17th), Mathias Kourur (25th) struck off Mashoor Sheriff (22nd). min). Unfortunately, I found my trap.

Former Bengaluru player Deshorn Brown almost provided the night opener with an acrobatic effort in the very first minute. NorthEast United dominated the opening exchanges but the game opened right around the quarter-hour mark.

Four goals were scored in an entertaining 11 minutes, two from both. First, Brazilian goal Man Silva made most of Udanta Singh’s build-up plays, leaving NorthEast’s defenders high and dry with a fine goal.

Three minutes later, Brown had to make his point in the game. VP Suhair brilliantly found Brown on the left bank who, with a controlled first touch, blasted into the net to equalize.

After this NorthEast shot himself in the leg. Aashiq Kuruniyan bowls the ball out of bounds and it bounces off the crossbar and comes back into play. Mashoor Sharif instead of clearing it scored a goal of his own.

At the other end, new signer Mathias Kourur made amends for his teammate. Suhair again asked for Kauroor a second time, stepping in to equalize for the second time in the night.

Desperate to get into action, Sunil Chhetri squandered a chance but just before half time Jayesh Rane dropped with the left foot to score the fifth goal of the game.

Northeast was looking second best after the break. Chhetri missed an easy opportunity before Shahnaz Singh was brought on by Khalid Jameel, who looked to the bench for experience.

The game descended into a tactical battle with several substitutions from both sides, the latter interrupting the flow of the match. There was one bit left, where Alan Costa’s long ball went to Prince Ibarra, who cut and finished with style. Bengaluru managed to maintain the lead to get all three points.
