Is Shah Rukh Khan joining OTT? Karan Johar hints
Unlike many other Bollywood celebrities, Bollywood Superstars Shah Rukh Khan Has not debuted on any OTT platform yet. According to filmmaker and ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ host Karan Johar, whose proximity to Shah Rukh is well known, the superstar is actually in a state of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) as he is not on OTT. Teasing the superstar about the same, KJo tweeted on Saturday: “Never thought I would see the day when even the Badshahs of Bollywood would feel FOMO. Now I have seen everything!!” Ranveer singh responded by tweeting: “INKA SANS OF HUMOR TOH ALAG HAI BHAISAHAB!!! SRK ko bhi FOMO ho sakta hai?? ?????? #SiwaySRK.”
Seeing the fun that everyone was having at his own expense, SRK replied to Karan’s tweet with a cryptic comment: “Hmm… Picture toh abhi baaki hai… Mere friends…” Disney+ Hotstar In a promotional video KJo shared on social media, Shah Rukh is shown on the balcony of his Mumbai villa surveying his thousands of fans. The actor takes pride in the fact that he has a lot of fans unlike others, but his secretary, played by actor Rajesh Jais (who was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar web series, ‘Scam 1992’), Pipes to say that it may be true but “you never know about the future because all the actors now have their films released on OTT”.
The secretary meant that the stars on OTT are meeting their fans in their homes. This changes SRK’s mood, as according to KJo, he is hurt by the FOMO attack.
It is quite interesting to see how most of the superstars of Bollywood have been doing in the last one year. Amitabh Bachchan To Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, and even Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Abhishek BacchanHas released the films directly on the OTT platform. Notable person missing from this list is Shahrukh Khan.
In the video that has now gone viral on the internet, the superstar was hinting at an imminent release on Disney+ Hotstar. So, was this another publicity buildup for SRK’s upcoming venture, or just the weekend fun? As they say, only time will tell.
