Bangladesh beat Ireland by 4 runs to win the series 2-0

Bangladesh won the series 2-0 after winning the first match by three wickets in the second ODI.

Captain Tamim Iqbal top-scored with 69 and Mustafizur Rahman took four wickets as Bangladesh thrashed Ireland by five runs to clinch a one-day international series on Sunday.

After being sent in to bat, Bangladesh scored 274 runs in 48.5 overs. Ireland were in a good position to chase down the target, needing 10 runs to win off the last over bowled by Hasan Mahmood, losing two wickets within three deliveries and ending on 269–9.

Bangladesh won the series 2–0 after winning the high-scoring second ODI by three wickets after being washed out in the opening game.

Iqbal was steady at the top of the innings for Bangladesh, sharing 49 for the second wicket with Najmul Hossain Shanto (35) and 70 for the third with Liton Das (35), before he was dismissed by George Dockrell. But caught by Craig Young. ,

Mushfiqur Rahim (45) and Mehidy Hasan Miraj (37) propelled the scoring in the middle of the innings, before Ireland seamer Mark Adair took three late wickets to recover 4–40.

Ireland opener Paul Stirling scored 60 and captain Andy Balbirnie added 53 in a 109-run second-wicket partnership that laid a solid foundation for the reply.

Lorcan Tucker hit a 53-ball fifty and Harry Tector made 45 before falling wickets in the last 10 overs. Mahmood’s wickets off the first and third balls of the final over left Ireland needing a six off the last ball, but Craig Young was unable to deal with the yorker.
