Iran’s president calls for elections in Afghanistan – Times of India

Tehran: Irancalling for presidential election Afghanistan to determine the future of the country, where he hopes peace will return after the departure of Western troops and Taliban has taken control. Speaking on State TV on Saturday, Ibrahim Raisi Said that the Afghan people should vote “as soon as possible” to determine their government.
“There should be a government which is elected by the votes and the will of the people,” he said.
“NS Islamic Republic Afghanistan has always sought peace and tranquility, and an end to bloodshed and fraternity, and has demanded the sovereignty of the people’s will. We support the government elected by the Afghan people.”
